Molecular Oncology Lab
Dr. Alo Nag
Research
Major focus of the lab
To understand the mechanism of tumor development at a molecular level and to understand the disregulation of cellular pathways in various cancers.
Research Interest
To study Cell cycle regulation, Novel Tumor Suppressor Genes and Molecular mechanisms of Cellular Transformation.
Long term goal
Identification of potential molecular targets and development of innovative strategies for cancer detection and treatment.
Currently, the lab is actively involved in investigating the mechanisms of HPV oncogene mediated inactivation of several key cellular regulators as an effort towards identifying novel molecular targets against HPV related malignancies. Other research focus of the lab includes study of oncogenic mechanisms of FOXM1 and elucidation of unknown functions of novel tumour suppressor genes.
